LIONEL MESSI is considering staying in Barcelona for another year, according to his father.
George, who is also a 33-year-old agent, traveled to Spain for a showdown with club president Josep Maria Bartomu.
Messi has reportedly signed a £ 623 million contract to join Manchester City this summer.
But after a "very good" meeting with the club's owners, his father admitted that he could see his contract in Spain.
George was asked if the Argentine ace was likely to stay at Now Camp.
He simply replied: "Yes."
Asked how the meeting with Josep Maria Bartomu went, he said: "Very good."
The 33-year-old's position appears to have taken a major U-turn after his father allegedly told the club president: "My son is living."
George flew in a private jet from his home in Giorgio, Argentina, for the Sharddown talks with the Barcelona chiefs.
The discussion lasted about 90 minutes earlier this week - and they were not able to reach an agreement.Messi sought to leave the club for free after partnering in his transfer request.
